In his new book, “Conscious Coaching,” author, Brett Bartholomew, exposes a relevant gap in the strength and conditioning world. The connection between a coach and their athlete. “You can have all the books marked in the world, but you don’t know how to connect with people. What’s it worth in this world?” In the sport’s world, we are all often focused on the result. From the number on the bar we squat to the number of in-season wins, we are focused on the product rather than being focused on all the moving parts that help a team achieve that product.

Bartholomew digs into the intangibles that are needed for a coach to become a great mentor to his athletes. He simply states, “The number of blogs read isn’t the equivalent to the number of groups led.” The MindSide Podcast is honored to have Bartholomew in front of the mic this week to engage in conversation highlighting the social, emotional, and intellectual effects of coaching. Enjoy!
